Romantic and Modern Ball Gown designed by Madeline Gardner
The dress has the ball-gown style feel with the larger bottom, without weighing a million pounds! The top is very sleek and elegant, with the bottom bringing in the sparkle and detail. I loved the uniqueness of the top and bottom! The low-cut front with the sheer piece in the middle brought in a flirty, yet classy elegance to the dress! I actually ended up losing too much weight before the wedding, so even with alterations it fit a little too big in the top region for me, but overall I loved it and how I looked in it on my big day!
The long train blew me away and I absolutely loved it! And the way the train bustled for the reception was so perfect and easy to tie up!
From the designer: Designed for the modern-day princess, our Suki wedding gown features a plunging satin bodice with a sheer neckline and side inserts that meet the crystal and pearl beaded waistband. A full tulle ball gown skirt with lace appliqués and a wide scalloped hemline complete the look.
Condition: There were a few blemishes on the dress following our wedding, but I took the gown to a professional bridal gown cleaner and they took care of it. The dress truly looks brand new now!
As far as alterations - the bottom was hemmed as it was too long for me when I first purchased the dress. The top was also taken in a little bit at the bust and waist, as those were a little too large at first as well. The straps were shortened a little bit, but not drastically. We also sewed in ties for bustling the train during the reception, the bustle ties are color-coded, which made for a very easy and quick bustle task! I originally ordered a size 12 in the dress, and now after alterations, it fits closer to a size 10.
